Dear Members of the MIH Consortium,
As we approach the end of 2023, we reflect on an extraordinary year at the MIH Consortium, and I'm deeply grateful for our shared journey. From our energizing start at CES to our significant presence at the Japan Mobility Show, each milestone has been a vivid testament to our unwavering dedication to innovation and progress.
A key highlight was unveiling Project X at the Japan Mobility Show, a vehicle that embodies our vision for future mobility with two years of intensive development, blending our research and development efforts and the collective wisdom of our partners. Project X, with its innovative 2+1 seating configuration, optimizes space and versatility. Its advanced technology, which combines fixed charging with a battery-swapping system, addresses range anxiety. This collaborative achievement symbolizes the essence of our open platform approach and MIH's commitment to spearheading innovation in the electric vehicle sector.
The unveiling of this concept vehicle captured widespread attention, not just in Japan but on the global stage, igniting conversations about the potential of our open EV strategy. I've received many messages from friends, and their keen interest and high expectations bringing me both joy and a sense of responsibility. This is just the beginning of our journey with the open platform approach. Our focus now is on transforming our technology into tangible applications, developing more reference designs that elevate user experiences, and sharing broader business opportunities with our partners.
This year, we expanded our presence in Asia and the Middle East, including Japan, Thailand, India, and Saudi Arabia, tapping into their rich electric vehicle potential. Our interactions with local businesses have given us invaluable insights into these markets, laying a solid foundation for our future endeavors.
Beyond building ecosystems, MIH is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent in the EV sector. The success of our first MIH EV Design Award, which drew enthusiastic participation from college and graduate students, had been incredibly inspiring. To maintain this momentum, we've expanded our initiative by collaborating with partners like Kenda Tires and the Taiwan Design Research Institute. Through workshops and design competitions, we're providing youth talents with opportunities to immerse themselves in the industry and market. We're confident that these experiences will shape them into future leaders in the electric vehicle and mobility sectors.
Looking forward, we extend our gratitude to our members for their involvement in standardizing and modularizing EV technologies. We're excited to announce that MIH will be at CES in January 2024 (Booth: LVCC West Hall #7216), showcasing our People Mover and Goods Mover solutions. We believe that through continued innovation and collaboration, we can create a smarter and a more sustainable urban future.
In an era filled with challenges and opportunities, MIH remains committed to our mission by collaborating with members to shape the future.
