The Program is a unique offering from Techstars and MIH Consortium. No. Participation in MIH for Startups is free.
We welcome startups in the mobility space to join us, however, the following verticals are MIH’s focus and will take priority over the rest.
Startups should have initial traction and product-market fit, but they don’t need to have raised any funding or achieved any specific level of sales.
We welcome any startup companies (regardless of the number of members with the company) to apply.
The application deadline is 14th Aug, 2022.
Upon registration, you will receive an email acknowledging the application. Follow up emails will be sent regarding next steps or if any information is missing or if additional information is needed.
After submitting the application, you must send any changes to foundercatalyst@techstars.com to make any changes.
Yes. The team has full ownership rights to its ideas and all intellectual properties.
We will consider every proposal based on its merits and a variety of factors such as business potential, innovativeness, market relevance, team experience and expertise, integration potential with MIH Working Groups, robustness of product design and time-to-market advantage…etc.
The judges will comprise members from Techstars, MIH, Foxconn and other invited industry experts. These are seasoned professionals who come with extensive industry and business experience.
Up to 20 will be selected.
During the program, participants will gain access to bi-weekly masterclasses designed to help them scale their businesses and navigate some of the unique challenges that EV founders face. There will also be pitch coaching and 1:1 mentor session. All masterclasses will be recorded.
The program is led by a Program Manager at Techstars with executive sponsorship from MIH Consortium, Foxconn-initiated open electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem that promotes collaboration in the mobility industry. Throughout the program, participants will also gain access to the Techstars network, subject matter experts at MIH Consortium, and key stakeholders from both the MIH Consortium and Techstars.
The program will be delivered virtually, which means founders will be able to access it from anywhere in the world leveraging tools including Zoom and Slack.
Founders’ total commitment is approximately 3-10 hours per week for 8 weeks. This varies depending on how many mentor meetings founders book each week. Example: 3 mentor meetings/week is common. Founders will also spend 60-90 minutes in a bi-weekly masterclass or cohort building, an hour office hour meeting with the program manager.
We expect all participants to attend 80% of the masterclasses and cohort buildings. Masterclasses will also be recorded for viewing at a later date.
Yes, co-founders may participate in some elements of the program.
There is no cost to participate in the program. The MIH for Startups powered by Techstars is distinct from the Techstars Accelerator and involves no direct investment or equity exchange. These programs are run free of charge to selected participants.
You will be notified by email on August 19th, 2022.
There is no template. Your pitch deck will be submitted as a .pdf file and you may also include a link to a website or video of your proposal or demo.
