The mission of MIH Consortium is to create an open EV ecosystem that promotes collaboration in the mobility industry. MIH has formed Working Groups with members collaborating to develop standards and reference designs. This document describes how the Working Groups submit proposals to the Committee for review to become MIH Recommended Standards. A general overview of the proposal process is as follows:
Stage One:
With the proper documentation and declaration, the proposal starts as the “Working Draft” with the initial approval by the Working Group Chair and MIH. The Working Group Chair and Members will review and revise before moving onto the next stage. The review and revision period should be at least one month.
Stage Two:
In the “Proposed Draft” stage, a number of Reviewers with knowledge and expertise in the relevant domain will further review with focus on technical details and implementation. The review and revision period should be at least two months and if the Reviewers demand major technical content changes, it will go back to the previous stage.
Stage Three:
In the “Final Candidate Draft” stage, proposals will be reviewed by the entire Committee with focus on business, policies, and intellectual property rights (IP) and be made available for preview by all MIH Contributor Members. The review and revision period should be at least two months and if the Committee demands major content changes, it will go back to the previous stage.
Stage Four:
After the completion of the above stages, proposals will be published as MIH Recommended Standards. Hardware-related standards will be open to all Contributor Members. Software-related standards will be open to all Contributor Members and may be made available to the public as the Committee sees fit.
